New York City is known as the “city that never sleeps”, partially because of the all the exciting bars and nightclubs it has to offer. If you are planning on partaking in the New York City nightlife next time you visit, consider this top ten list of our favorite places in NYC to go after dark.
10. Ella:

Named after the singer Ella Fitzgerald, this new East Village lounge has an old Hollywood glamour feel, complete with waitresses dressed as flappers.

9. Lit Lounge:

Lit Lounge is where you go for cheap drinks, good music and a true New Yorker feel. It is one of the few nightclubs in New York without a dress code or door policy.

8. Brinkley’s

Newly opened after a few months of renovation, Brinkley’s is located under Bar Martignetti has a sexy, sleek almost disco feel to it.

7.Milk & Honey

Being extremely hard to get into, if you do you should take advantage of it. All guest must call ahead to receive the unlisted address and make a reservation as well as be buzzed in.

6. Socialista

This is the place to be on Thursday night, although drinks can be expensive the company and music make it worth it.

5. Santos Party House

4. The Box

3. GoldBar

This club may have the coolest décor of any club with gold skulls and thick gold chain curtains. Even though the drinks are pricey the unique combinations they come up with make it worthwhile.

One of the newest additions to the NYC nightlife, you need a reservation and plan on breaking bank on their bottles of wine and champagne.

1. 1 Oak

If you were visiting New York City during Easter weekend, you may have witnessed quite a few interesting activities while looking through your rental car window. This interesting spectacle is known as the Easter Bonnet Festival.

Every year on Easter Weekend, NYC hosts their annual Easter Parade. Unlike other New York City parades that are organized down to every last detail, the Easter Parade is a far more unpredictable event. The area along Fifth Avenue is closed to automobile traffic and the space transforms into an Easter Bonnet and Easter Outfit extravaganza.

This event doesn’t have any floats or marching bands like the traditional New York parade but it is a spectacle nonetheless. People from around the world people come to New York City to participate. Outfits range from elegant to outrageous. From outfits accented with live animals to civil war period costumes and the latest high fashions, there is a little bit of everything for those who come to watch.

This outrageous event is a New York tradition that dates back to the middle of the 1800s. The social elite would attend services at one of the Fifth Avenue churches and parade their new fashions down the avenue afterward. Even though all were allowed to attend this was mainly an event for the wealthier who were looking to catch of the upcoming season’s top fashion.

Today, the people dressed in finery strolling around New York City’s Fifth Avenue have become more flamboyant than fashionable. Some outfits even included live birds nest in bonnets of real flowers, chirping chicks and towering individual creations.

The creativity displayed during this event is simply mind-blowing. The more elaborate costumes look like something out of a dream. This New York City manifestation is something people come from all over the world to be a part of. While planning your trip to NYC to be a part of this, or any one of the millions of events held yearly, reserve your car rental with Prestige Car Rental.

We provide our customers with quality and affordable car rentals for every occasion. Whether you are looking for a car rental, SUV rental or van rental, Prestige Car Rental is sure to have exactly what you are looking for.

If you plan on traveling to New York City this upcoming weekend you will encounter one of the greatest celebrations this city has to offer, St. Patrick’s Day. Not only are the majority of New Yorkers sporting their most creative green apparel, you also have the chance to experience the one of a kind St. Patrick’s Day Parade.

Visitors to New York City on St. Patrick’s Day can enjoy participating in the celebration alongside New York City natives. Some say this parade is the most popular parade in the city, even surpassing the well known Thanksgiving Day Parade. The first official St. Patrick’s Day Parade in New York City was held in 1762 by Irish military men serving in the American colonies. The parade goes up 5th Avenue from 44th to 79th Streets. The best places to park your NYC car rental is in one of the several parking garages along the connected side streets. Even though the parade does not allow floats, autos or exhibits, the parade attracts two million spectators and over 2,150,000 marchers every year.

This year’s grand marshal is Francis X. Comerford. Francis X. Comerford is the Chief Revenue Officer and President of Commercial Operations for the NBC Owned Television Stations. Aides to the Grand Marshal are chosen annually by the Parade’s participating organizations in recognition of their outstanding contribution to the Irish American Community of New York, their years of unselfish and distinguished service to the local community and for their profound dedication to Irish faith, culture and heritage. This year 16 distinguished ladies and gentleman have been chose for this role.

Some of the groups that will be marching in this parade include bag pipe players, Irish dancers, and military men and women retired and currently serving our country. There are several different acts being performed throughout the parade and it is sure to be a year no one will forget.

The New York City St. Patrick’s Day Parade will take place on Saturday, March 17, 2012 starting at 11:00am on 5th Avenue around 44th Street. Our inside source tells us that the best viewing areas are along the north end of the parade, this allows you to avoid the large crowds that gather below 59th Street.

Whether you’re an out of town guest of the city or a New York native, on St. Patrick’s Day, New York City is the place to be. Prestige Car Rental gives you several transportation options for travel to and from the St. Patrick’s Day Parade! We offer luxury car rentals in New York so you can arrive in style! Regardless of which vehicle you choose, one of our Manhattan car rentals will be the ticket to attending one of the most thrilling days of the year!

Everyone knows New York City is the number one place to go Christmas shopping. But what about window shopping? Window displays are some of New York City’s best holiday decorations and we have the countdown of this year’s top 5 holiday window displays. Not only are the festive decorations sure to put you in to the holiday spirit, they offer unique gift ideas, as well as the place to buy them.

For those that don’t live in New York City it is easy to get lost but don’t worry the best displays are shown on the city’s most well known streets. Macy’s is the start of our Holiday Window Shopping Tour. It’s the holidays so treat yourself to a luxury car rental and make your way to 34th Street just west of Broadway. There you can enjoy Macy’s traditional window display depicting a scene from the Christmas film Miracle on 34th Street as well as a second one that changes every year. This year the window display was inspired by their partnership with the Make A Wish Foundation. In the store visitors can design and purchase their own ornaments.

The second stop is NYC’s Saks on 5th Avenue. The Saks window displays continues their classic storybook theme. The whimsical Holly visits the Land of Bubblemakers, each window illustrating a different scene. The characters are dressed in this year’s most gorgeous styles.

Next on the NYC Window City tour is Bergdorf Goodman, north of Saks on 5th Avenue. These window displays present the sophisticated signature design of Bergdorf Goodman. The windows incorporate authentic antiques into their already high fashion design.

The forth window display is Barneys New York Basics located at 660 Madison Avenue on 61st street. Head north on 5th Avenue taking a right at 61st street. Barneys window’s theme changes every year but you can always expect a high-fashion, modern, humorous, and an almost snarky display. This year Lady Gaga partnered with Barneys New York to create GAGA’s Workshop which offers unique gift ideas.

The final stop on this year’s top 5 must-see window displays is Bloomingdales Basics. Bloomingdales is located on 1000 Third avenue at 59th Street and is most easy to get to by heading south on Madison Avenue after Barneys, taking a left at 60th street, then taking a right at Lexington Avenue to 59th Street. Always original these are some of New York City’s most beautiful holiday window displays. The theme changes every year but you can expect a series of scenes that are detailed and elegant.

Displays are typically revealed by the end of November and stay until Christmas. While you can always become one in hundreds of people trying to hail down a taxi on those crowded streets it is easier to take part in New York’s car rental options. There are several parking garages that access the main roads making getting through this hectic city more relaxing and enjoyable. Contact Prestige Car Rental to reserve your luxury car rentals, van rentals, and SUV rentals in NYC.
